A beauty luminary and mentor, Silva Dayan, president of the World Anti-aging Association (WAAA), founder of Beverly Hills Beauty International, is renowned for her business acumen and passion for new technologies. Her mission is to elevate beauty and anti-aging discussions.
She is often described as the ‘iron lady of the beauty industry’ and colleagues do not stop admiring her energy, commitment, and creative approach. Silva has adeptly unified three core global initiatives under her WAAA brand: the association, the award, and the academy.
The World Anti-aging Association, under the leadership of Silva, unites hundreds of doctors and scientists worldwide. However, the activities of its Clinical Research Council are strictly classified. No one knows details of her collaborations in the field of biohacking in search of a ‘youth pill’.
Despite her publicity, Silva Dayan remains a rather closed and reserved person. She rarely gives interviews and hardly ever attends social events. Only this year, Silva made a barely noticeable step out of the shadows, most likely, forced to draw attention to her ideas.
“After this, any talk about wrinkles seems ridiculous,” she says with a smile. “Elon Musk aims to make life multi-planetary. I want humans to become the most beautiful long-livers. We should hack biological age.”
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam, Silva Dayan discussed biohacking, youth-pills, wellness tourism, and conscious beauty standards.
Harper’s Bazaar Viet Nam (HBZVN): Has a youth-pill been invented?
SILVA DAYAN: It should be a central topic in presidential debates (smiling). This isn’t just about beauty; it’s about quality of life, longevity, inner balance, and many other vital aspects. I believe beauty is as important as space exploration. Beauty connects humanity, and I could talk about it endlessly. As for the youth-pill, I dream of it becoming reality, and WAAA is working on it.
HBZVN: You moved from Armenia to Ukraine at a young age. How has your multicultural background shaped your business approach and personal philosophy?
SILVA DAYAN: I moved to Ukraine as a child and fully embraced its culture, but I still love Armenia as my homeland. My family has a long tradition of business, so the Armenian spirit and entrepreneurial skills have been with me from childhood.
HBZVN: Meeting Hollywood stars like Cher and Brad Pitt inspired your unique beauty salons. What sparked this idea?
SILVA DAYAN: Everything popular is born in Hollywood, and all roads lead there. Hence the name Beverly Hills Beauty International. I love America and its culture.
HBZVN: Beverly Hills Beauty Group is famous for its advanced technologies. Can you explain the philosophy of ‘smart anti-aging’?
SILVA DAYAN: Poor diets, stress, and sedentary lifestyles impact health and appearance. Preventive age management, part of modern medicine, focuses on disease prevention and personalized health approaches to improve quality of life. We collaborate with top physicians and the World Anti-aging Association to integrate cutting-edge technologies and remain at the forefront of innovation.
HBZVN: Your business expanded internationally. What challenges did you face scaling globally?
SILVA DAYAN: Staffing has been the biggest challenge. Attracting qualified professionals is tough, but we strive to bring the best to our project. Bureaucratic hurdles and tax systems are minor compared to this.
HBZVN: You’re launching a beauty column with Marie Claire. How do you use media to promote your values?
SILVA DAYAN: My goal is to inspire others to strive for youth, health, and beauty. That’s the focus of all my writing.
HBZVN: How would you describe your personal style?
SILVA DAYAN: I favor casual clothing—simple and comfortable. Sportswear, jeans, and sneakers are my go-to, but with accessories, I can add a business or romantic touch. I love trouser suits and dresses, although I don’t wear dresses daily. Despite having many shoes and glasses, I still often feel like I have nothing to wear! My style is based on comfort, mood, and occasion—I love to experiment.
HBZVN: What’s your skincare and anti-aging beauty routine?
SILVA DAYAN: I only share what works for me. My routine includes daily care, weekly hammam sessions, and monthly PRP or biorevitalization injections. I rely on essentials like sunscreen, vitamins, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid. Regular exfoliation is key, and I take collagen supplements to boost results.
HBZVN: How do you maintain a work-life balance?
SILVA DAYAN: I make time for self-care, sports, meditation, and beauty treatments. A 4-hands massage and boxing once a week are part of my routine. Table setting is my creative outlet—I currently have 30 different sets of dishes collected from auctions.
HBZVN: Modern femininity means independence to you. How do you empower others through your work?
SILVA DAYAN: Beverly Hills Beauty International and WAAA both aim to empower people, helping them feel confident and free. I draw inspiration from those who look up to me as a role model and strive to improve themselves. Gratitude makes you healthier and happier.
HBZVN: As president of WAAA, what initiatives are you most proud of, and what future do you envision?
SILVA DAYAN: WAAA, founded in Monaco, is at the forefront of anti-aging, aesthetic medicine, and wellness. We bring together experts to advance these fields globally, revolutionizing how we approach aging. Through our network, we share knowledge and innovations, making science and beauty accessible to all. Our mission is to help people find confidence and beauty through self-care and inner harmony.
