Alena Bulataya Design Buro unveils a modern oasis in Dubai Mall’s latest beauty salon

PRO Nails & Beauty Dubai blends elegance with desert-inspired minimalism for the ultimate beauty and privacy experience.

Nestled in the heart of the city amidst desert sands, the PRO Nails & Beauty salon is located in Dubai Mall, one of the world’s most popular and largest shopping centers. Its interior is crafted in a style that feels intrinsic to the region, embodying an organic aesthetic. The design, led by art director Alena Bulataya of a renowned interior design bureau with projects worldwide, draws inspiration from the desert and embraces minimalism. This project is among the latest achievements of the bureau’s Dubai branch, showcasing their commitment to blending local ambiance with contemporary design.

Alena Bulataya, founder of Alena Bulataya Design Buro.

Based on curves, the geometry of the interior resembles desert dunes flowing one into another. The interior is monochrome: the floor, walls and ceiling are solved in a single shade of ecru. The streamlined shapes merge into each other, forming a single endless line of space.

According to the traditions of Muslim culture, women should be covered with abaya, while any beauty treatments should be hidden from the eyes of outsiders, especially men. That is why the entrance area, visible to visitors of the shopping center, covers the rest of the beauty salon from the eyes of passing observers.

The observable guest area combines a reception desk in the form of a stone boulder, and a cozy waiting area, as well as an unusual attribute for a beauty salon – a coffee&bar island, where both clients and anyone else can order drinks.

Functional zones are ergonomically distributed behind the reception, opening to the visitor one after another. They are united by a common corridor with a shelf hidden in the wall, where the salon’s products are presented.

It feels like an endless corridor ends with an unusual art object with hidden lighting.  It represents undulating curves growing out of the wall – bionic forms peculiar to desert sands that flutter in the wind.

Located at the corner of the corridor, it seems to lure visitors and invites them to discover what lies around the corner. A similar art object welcomes guests in the waiting area, giving the interior mystery and sophistication from the first seconds of being in it.

Right behind the entry zone is the hairdressing area, followed by the manicure area, the pedicure area, which is separated by high arch-shaped openings into a separate space on the podium. Thanks to a convenient ergonomic layout, visitors to each area cannot see each other, thus ensuring privacy and comfort for everyone.

Behind closed doors are three separate rooms for beauty and massage treatments, one of which has its own shower area with a trim made from rock, also a not uncommon desert friendly attribute.

The modern minimalist interior is a reflection of the young rapidly developing city of the future – Dubai, and the country, which is just over 50 years old. It is laconism, thoughtfulness and future-orientation that are the bases of this interior.
