Dressed in white, Carla Tempesta stands alone within a landscape of rolling green curves. She raises her arms toward the sky. In another frame, her dress moves softly across the grass. Her gestures are calm, yet they still carry the control of a trained dancer.
The images feel like a quiet dance between movement and stillness. They also reflect Carla’s creative evolution. Acting, modeling, music and digital content have each given her a different way to express herself. Yet behind every transformation is the same young girl who first learned to communicate through movement.
The First Steps
Carla started dancing at only three years old. She trained in ballet and tap before joining a competitive dance team. She performed across the country and appeared in halftime shows. Theater soon followed, giving her another place to explore characters and emotions.
Performing became more than an activity. It became part of her identity.
“Beginning that YOUNG, with both DANCE AND THEATER, gave me a COMFORTABILITY with performing in front of AUDIENCES. It laid the FOUNDATION for everything that followed.”
Dance taught her discipline and control. Theater taught her how to tell a story. Together, they prepared her for the many creative roles she would later take on. As a teenager, Carla moved from Ohio to Los Angeles to pursue acting. She arrived with ambition, curiosity and very few connections. Within weeks, she booked her first professional job.
She remembers that period with warmth. Everything felt new, fast and full of possibility. “I remember the excitement of it all,” she says. “A new city that I loved, the entertainment industry, and all of the inspiring people I quickly met. All of these really cool things were happening at the same time. It was magical.”
Los Angeles became the setting for the next stage of her life. It gave her opportunities, but it also encouraged her to move beyond one definition of herself.
Many Ways to Tell a Story
Acting remained Carla’s first love, but modeling entered her life unexpectedly. A photographer discovered her on a film set. That moment led to professional modeling work, magazine features and wider recognition. She later became runner-up among 10,000 entrants in Maxim’s first international Cover Girl competition. VoyageLA and IMDb document this part of her career.
Music eventually became another outlet. To Carla, these different fields are not separate worlds. They are connected by the same desire to communicate.
“They all go hand in hand,” she explains. “They’re all different forms of storytelling that complement and strengthen one another.”
Her experience in dance gives her an awareness of movement. Acting helps her understand emotion and character. Modeling teaches her how to create a story within a single frame. Music allows her to communicate through voice, rhythm and lyrics.
Each discipline adds something to the others. Together, they form a creative language that is entirely her own.
An Unexpected Song
Carla’s debut single, Girls Weekend, began as a lighthearted project. Released in 2022, the song carried a simple idea: friendship, escape and the pleasure of leaving everyday responsibilities behind for a while. Its playful energy connected with listeners. “It’s a universal song about a fun topic,” Carla says. “It’s just a fun, catchy song.”
The response took her by surprise. The song reached beyond her existing audience and introduced her to the demands of the music industry. Success brought excitement, but it also revealed a more difficult side of the business. “To be honest, the success of the track was overwhelming,” she says.
“My PERSPECTIVE changed when I realized that the BUSINESS SIDE of music was very ANXIETY-INDUCING, to say the least.”
She laughs as she says it, but the observation is honest. A creative project can begin with joy, then quickly become surrounded by strategy, pressure and expectation. Carla learned that artistic success and personal peace do not always move at the same tempo. For now, she remains deliberately mysterious about her next project. When asked what audiences can expect, she answers simply: “We shall see!”
Finding Inspiration Beyond Los Angeles
Carla still finds creative energy in Los Angeles. The city has shaped much of her adult life and career. Yet travel gives her another kind of inspiration. Italy, New York and other destinations have become meaningful parts of her life. She is especially drawn to places where she feels a personal connection. For her, travel is not only about creating beautiful content. It is about paying attention.
She enjoys meeting people whose lives are different from her own. She wants to understand local culture and history. She notices the atmosphere of a place and the way it changes her perspective.
“It enriches knowledge in so many ways,” she says. “I love having genuine interactions with people whose lives are completely different from my own.”
She often returns home seeing her work and life differently. New surroundings interrupt familiar patterns. They make room for fresh ideas. At the same time, her greatest happiness remains close to home. She treasures time with her father and long conversations with her mother. She enjoys being surrounded by people she loves. She also readily admits that relaxation and sleep bring her considerable joy.
This balance is important. Her public image may be polished and glamorous, but her private world is quieter.
Keeping Something for Herself
Social media encourages constant visibility. Audiences often feel that they know someone through photographs, videos and personal updates. Carla understands that closeness, but she also maintains clear boundaries.
“I like to KEEP a lot of myself TO MYSELF. I only share what I feel is SHAREABLE, without giving TOO MUCH away.”
That decision is not distance. It is self-preservation. After spending much of her life performing for an audience, she knows the value of keeping certain thoughts and experiences private. It may also explain the quiet strength in these photographs. Carla is visible, yet she is not completely revealed. She appears to move through a green maze, following a path only she can see.
Returning to Her Artistic Roots
The future remains open. Carla does not pretend to have every step planned. Yet she senses that her next chapter will bring her closer to where she began. “There are a lot of unknowns,” she says, “but I am certain that the next chapter will entail getting back to my artistic roots in some ways.” It feels less like moving backward than finding her center again. After acting, modeling, music and the pressures that came with them, she is returning to the original magic of performance.
