Chencho Corleone’s collaboration with Rauw Alejandro on the single Desesperados was certified 9x platinum by the RIAA and received 2 Latin Grammy nominations. It also reached the number 1 position on the Latin Airplay chart of Billboard in the USA.
His dominance on the charts continued in 2022 with the success of Me Porto Bonito alongside Bad Bunny, from the historic and Grammy-nominated album Un Verano Sin Ti. It was the first entirely Spanish language song to top the Billboard Streaming Songs chart in the nine years of its history. The song was chosen as one of the best-performed songs of the year and appeared in various end-of-year summaries from Spotify, YouTube, TikTok, TIME, and Apple Music. It also reached the number 2 position on Spotify Global.

Starting his music career at a young age and achieving remarkable accomplishments, Chencho Corleone is also a trailblazer in his own field, thanks to his profound understanding of the changes in the music industry. From the outset, he recognized that the industry had diversified in various aspects.
“I believe one of the most significant changes is the format in which music is consumed. In the beginning, physical discs were the primary format for listening to music, and then came the digital era where people could choose to buy the entire album or an individual song in .mp3 format. Later, non-interactive streaming arrived, where listeners would download an app, and the app would recommend music based on their preferences”.
The streaming platforms, where listeners can choose what they want to hear and create their own playlists, have played a significant role in the development and current status of Reggaeton music genre (a popular electronic music genre originating from Panama in the late 1980s).
Another significant difference, as pointed out by Chencho Corleone, is the presence of international artists singing Reggaeton, something that wasn’t seen before. This is a part of the genre’s development and has helped it secure an important position by inspiring many to adopt its rhythm, language, melodies, and themes, making it a favored genre across generations.

However, as a gift to his eagerly waiting fans, Chencho Corleone decided to surprise everyone by revealing details about his upcoming album. He mentioned that his first solo album will be released soon, starting with the song Un Cigarrillo, the first single from the album. Keeping with the theme of love, Un Cigarrillo holds a special place for Chencho Corleone as it is a song that compels people to dance when they hear it.
With the ambition of creating a comprehensive musical journey from the first track to the last, Chencho Corleone promises to deliver music that embodies his unique style.
“I make music from my perspective, in terms of what I identify with and what I enjoy when listening to a rhythm. That’s why my songs lean more towards dancing, experiences, imagination, and a combination of rhythm and lyrics that bring satisfaction when listening and, at the same time, motivate you to dance”.
Choosing daily life as the source of creativity and creation, based on personal experiences, the debut album is being crafted to inspire the audience, those who have always been alongside Chencho Corleone.
