People choose different paths to make their mark on their industries. For entrepreneur and chemical engineer Kelin Marquet, that path led her to challenge the status quo of the supplement industry. Frustrated by the prevalence of unnecessary additives and ineffective ingredients in supplements, she founded Why Not Natural, a company dedicated to creating clean, science-backed supplements that actually deliver on their promises.

Engineering a better standard

The supplement industry operates with minimal regulation compared to pharmaceuticals, leaving consumers vulnerable to products that may be ineffective or potentially harmful. This regulatory gap sparked Kelin Marquet’s mission to establish higher supplement quality and safety standards.

“The FDA doesn’t require evidence of safety or effectiveness for supplements, but as a trained chemical engineer, I wanted to make sure our products follow defined standards to certify our supplements are natural and clean,” Marquet explains.

Kelin Marquet, a chemical engineering graduate of Texas A&M University, created proprietary standards for supplements. These standards eliminate common fillers, artificial preservatives, and unnecessary additives often found in “natural” supplements.

Her background provides her with unique insights into supplement formulation, research evaluation, and selection of effective active ingredients.

Kelin Marquet elaborates, “I use my background and strong understanding of science to pore through research articles and choose active ingredients that work – not cheap substitutes you usually find in supplements.”

A mother’s mission for clean supplements

Aside from her professional background as a chemical engineer, one more critical role drove Kelin Marquet to build Why Not Natural: being a mother. Viewing her supplements through the eyes of a parent, she meticulously oversees every aspect of production to make certain they are safe enough for her own family.

Kelin Marquet’s personal connection drives her to create trustworthy supplements with only necessary, beneficial ingredients. She formulates products with the same care she applies at home. This blend of expertise and heartfelt commitment makes her mission both personal and impactful.

“As a mother of three, I’m motivated by creating supplements that I feel comfortable giving to my children,” Kelin Marquet explains. “We’re so confident in our products; we’re proud to give them to our own families.”

Kelin Marquet on promoting transparency in the supplement industry

Kelin Marquet’s mission to revolutionize the supplement industry centers on a crucial yet often overlooked principle: transparency. In an industry plagued by hidden ingredients, misleading labels, and minimal regulation, Marquet aims to set a new standard where consumers have complete visibility into what they are putting into their bodies.

The founder seeks to eliminate the guesswork that has long been associated with supplements, empowering individuals to make informed choices about their health.

For Kelin Marquet, this initiative builds trust and holds the industry accountable, pushing it toward ethical practices and higher-quality products. She mentions, “Transparency becomes the foundation for creating a healthier, more informed public, making sure consumers no longer need to compromise on safety or effectiveness when selecting supplements.”

Accepting the challenge ahead

Kelin Marquet understands that revolutionizing the supplement industry is not easy. Challenging decades of entrenched traditions, practices, and loosely enforced regulations requires careful planning and scientific study.

She also acknowledges that the industry is resistant to change. This often stems from its reliance on shortcuts, such as low-quality ingredients or vague labeling practices.

With all these concerns, Marquet knows she must not stop. She refuses to compromise on her vision because she believes the long-term rewards far outweigh the challenges. She envisions an industry where consumers, including her family, no longer have to doubt the quality or safety of the supplements they purchase.

Kelin Marquet shares, “All this ultimately leads to more people experiencing better health and living. And I, with my whole team at Why Not Natural, am happy to lead this mission.”
