When people think of New York, the fashion capital, they often picture a great metropolis shaped by contrast, ambition, density, and constant movement. Life here is vibrant and draws people from every field, among them naturally artists and those in fashion. From New York, model Zuzana Adam Eustis created this fashion story exclusively for Harper’s Bazaar Vietnam. Here, she shares her story.
“I came to New York as a fashion model with an O-1 visa. At first, I only saw tall buildings and fast-moving streets. Later, I felt that the city was speaking to me.

New York is not just a place to live
It feels like a presence that follows your steps.
New York is loud, sharp, restless, and strangely intimate.

The city asks for confidence, but also quiet self-reflection. It pushes you forward while making you question everything.
I had worked in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Bangkok before. I also spent time in Italy and Jakarta. Each city taught me beauty in a different language. But New York speaks with stronger contrast and clearer shadows.

Across time, the city reveals its duality. The so-called “city of dreams” is equally a site of interrogation – of desire, success, and constructed ideals. Within its rhythm, perception continuously shifts between clarity and illusion..

People do not call it “the city of dreams and ambition” by chance.
To me, it is also a city of elegance. Even its chaos carries a sense of style.
In the spring light of Manhattan, fashion becomes part of the architecture. Sharp tailoring belongs naturally beside steel, glass, and old stone walls. Soft silk moves gently within that strong rhythm.

In the look above, I wear a long ivory coat by Judy Zhang. Underneath, a black dress by 4th + Reckless brings balance and quiet strength. The clean, minimal lines blend perfectly with the city streets around me.

In another moment, I appear in a vivid shade of pink. The silk dress, with its soft floral details, feels both bold and romantic.
Against the city’s classic stone backdrop, beside the fountain, the bright pink blooms like a flower in spring. The coat, the soft silk, and the water create a gentle sense of softness.
Luxury here is not about display, but about presence. It reflects the true spirit of New York, the fashion capital.

A Spring Conversation in the Heart of New York, the Fashion Capital
For me, modeling has never been only about beautiful clothes. It is about emotion, memory, and the quiet space between moments. The best images are always the most honest ones.
I wanted this story to feel personal and real.
A pause in the middle of the street. A breath before moving forward.
It is the feeling of a woman becoming herself in the city, at the moment when winter turns into spring.
